Deux raisons de la comprendre plutôt que de la faire défiler. D'abord, c'est le seul champ firmographique vraiment normalisé sur LinkedIn, et c'est ce qui le rend utilisable pour segmenter. Ensuite, les codes ne sont ni séquentiels ni stables d'une version à l'autre : tout ce que vous construisez dessus doit s'appuyer sur le code, jamais sur le libellé. ## Ce qu'est vraiment la liste des secteurs LinkedIn Quand une entreprise crée sa page, ou qu'un membre remplit l'introduction de son profil, LinkedIn ne propose pas un champ libre. Il propose une liste déroulante, et tout ce qu'elle contient vient d'une nomenclature unique maintenue centralement. Cette nomenclature a été refondue en 2022 pour s'aligner sur le système de classification nord-américain NAICS, et c'est cette version refondue que tout le monde appelle désormais V2. La structure est un arbre, pas une liste plate. Cette unique entrée de niveau 6 est `3124`, Internet News, cinq crans sous Technology, Information and Media. C'est la branche la plus profonde de toute la nomenclature, et un bon rappel que « choisissez votre secteur » cache un arbre de décision bien plus large que ne le laisse croire le menu déroulant. Les catégories racines sont aussi très inégales. Manufacturing représente à lui seul 91 des 434 entrées, Professional Services 42 et Technology, Information and Media 41. À l'autre bout, Holding Companies est une catégorie racine qui ne contient qu'une seule entrée, elle-même. Un filtre posé au niveau racine ne fait donc pas du tout le même travail selon celui que vous choisissez : « Manufacturing » ratisse 91 valeurs possibles, « Holding Companies » en ratisse une. Un dernier détail de structure qui piège souvent. Les codes sont historiques, pas ordonnés. `1` correspond à Defense and Space Manufacturing, `4` à Software Development, `9` à Law Practice, tandis qu'Accommodation Services porte le `2190` et que les catégories récentes liées au climat et à l'accessibilité se situent dans les 3200. Un code bas signifie ancien, pas important. LinkedIn documente toujours 53 nœuds inactifs, et ils comptent plus que leur petit nombre ne le suggère, parce que les données collectées avant la migration peuvent encore les porter. Si votre CRM contient des fiches étiquetées « Information Technology and Services » ou « Apparel and Fashion », elles sont antérieures à la V2 : aucun de ces libellés n'existe dans la nomenclature actuelle, et tous deux comptaient parmi les valeurs les plus utilisées avant la migration. Voilà le scénario qui casse silencieusement. Un filtre écrit contre la liste actuelle ne renvoie rien pour ces anciennes fiches, ce qui se lit comme « aucune entreprise dans ce segment » plutôt que « vos données sont sur l'ancien vocabulaire ». Un code NAF est un *enregistrement* : il est rattaché à l'entité légale par l'institut de statistiques, donc bien plus cohérent, et c'est le niveau auquel les registres d'entreprises français sont réellement interrogeables. C'est pourquoi les deux listes fonctionnent mieux ensemble que l'une contre l'autre. Une liste est exhaustive, l'autre est vivante. Récupérer la valeur pour quelques centaines d'entreprises, c'est là que ça cesse d'être un exercice de lecture. Ouvrir chaque page et lire l'onglet Infos fonctionne pour dix comptes et s'effondre à cent, ce qui correspond au moment que la plupart des gens atteignent une semaine après avoir décidé que le secteur serait leur axe principal de segmentation. Ce n'est pas la même chose, et c'est la seconde qui vous fait trouver. Un éditeur d'enrichissement de données pourrait légitimement se ranger sous Software Development, sous IT Services and IT Consulting ou sous Technology, Information and Internet. Celui à retenir est celui que les acheteurs sélectionnent dans leurs propres filtres. Descendez aussi bas que l'arbre le permet. Un nœud profond remonte quand même : tout ce qui se trouve sous Software Development est capturé par un filtre posé sur la catégorie racine Technology, Information and Media, donc la précision ne vous coûte aucune portée. Choisir un parent large alors qu'un enfant précis existe, en revanche, vous fait perdre les recherches précises. Et les limites, honnêtement. Une seule valeur par entreprise signifie qu'une société qui fait trois choses n'en déclare qu'une. La valeur est auto-déclarée et rarement revue, donc une page créée en 2018 peut encore porter une catégorie qui décrit une entreprise qui n'existe plus sous cette forme. Les pages de groupe héritent d'une catégorie qui ne décrit peut-être aucune filiale en particulier. Rien de tout cela ne rend le champ inutile, cela veut simplement dire que le secteur est un premier tri, pas une qualification. La description, les spécialités et l'effectif sont ce qui transforme ce tri en segment exploitable, et [regarder les entreprises similaires](https://derrick-app.com/fr/linkedin/company-information/entreprises-similaires) va souvent plus vite que d'affiner le filtre de catégorie. ## Utiliser Derrick dans Claude (MCP) ou via l'API Derrick n'est pas qu'un module Google Sheets. La nomenclature V2 actuelle compte 434 secteurs d'activité actifs répartis sous 20 catégories de premier niveau. LinkedIn documente aussi 53 secteurs retirés datant d'avant la refonte de 2022, ce qui porte le total des valeurs documentées à 487. Seuls les 434 actifs apparaissent aujourd'hui dans la liste déroulante. ### D'où vient la liste officielle des secteurs LinkedIn ? LinkedIn publie la nomenclature sous forme de tables de référence pour son API, où chaque secteur porte un identifiant numérique utilisé sous la forme urn:li:industry:. La liste de cette page est cette nomenclature, reproduite en entier avec les codes et la branche parente de chaque entrée. ### Sur quel niveau de la liste des secteurs LinkedIn faut-il filtrer ? Aussi bas que votre segment le permet. La nomenclature remonte toute seule : un filtre posé sur une catégorie racine comme Technology, Information and Media capture déjà tout ce qui se trouve en dessous, Software Development et ses enfants compris. Filtrer sur un parent large alors qu'un enfant précis existe vous coûte de la précision sans vous acheter la moindre portée supplémentaire. ### Comment faire correspondre un code secteur LinkedIn à un code NAICS ou NAF ? Par le libellé, jamais par le numéro. LinkedIn a aligné le vocabulaire de la V2 sur les catégories NAICS en 2022, donc les libellés se reconnaissent en général, mais les numérotations n'ont aucun rapport : le code 4 de LinkedIn désigne Software Development et ne veut rien dire en NAICS. En France la correspondance se fait avec le NAF, dont les 732 sous-classes forment une grille plus fine que les 434 nœuds de LinkedIn : un secteur LinkedIn couvre donc le plus souvent plusieurs codes NAF. ### Pourquoi les comptages de secteurs varient-ils d'une liste à l'autre ? Trois raisons. Certaines listes sont antérieures à la refonte de 2022 et décrivent l'ancienne nomenclature. Certaines ne comptent que les nœuds terminaux et laissent de côté les catégories parentes : exactement 101 des 434 nœuds servent de parent quelque part dans l'arbre, donc un comptage des seules feuilles renvoie 333. Et certaines incluent les 53 secteurs retirés dans le total. Le chiffre des nœuds actifs de la V2 est 434. ### Que deviennent les entreprises qui utilisent encore un secteur retiré ? Leur page affiche une catégorie actuelle, car LinkedIn a migré les valeurs. Le problème se situe dans les données collectées avant la migration : une fiche CRM étiquetée avec un ancien libellé comme Information Technology and Services ne correspondra à aucun filtre écrit contre la liste actuelle, et le segment renvoie zéro sans le dire. ### Faut-il stocker le code ou le libellé du secteur ? Stockez le code. LinkedIn traduit le libellé affiché dans la langue d'interface du membre, donc le même secteur se lit différemment selon qui regarde, alors que l'identifiant numérique reste stable. Garder le libellé comme colonne lisible à côté du code ne pose aucun problème. ### Comment obtenir la liste des secteurs sous forme de données plutôt que de page web ? LinkedIn publie la nomenclature sous forme de tables de référence pour son API, et c'est de là que viennent les codes de cette page.
