Chair of the Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer
Shantanu Narayen has run Adobe as chief executive officer since December 2007 and has chaired its board since January 2017. He joined the company in January 1998 to lead the engineering technology group, then moved up through senior vice president of worldwide products, executive vice president of worldwide product marketing and development, and president and chief operating officer before taking the top job. Across eighteen years as CEO he shifted Adobe from packaged creative software to a subscription business built on Creative Cloud, Document Cloud and Experience Cloud, and more recently onto AI-first products. In March 2026 he told the board he will transition out of the CEO role once a successor is appointed, staying on as chair. He also serves on the board of the pharmaceutical company Pfizer.

Anil Chakravarthy runs Adobe's Customer Experience Orchestration business, the unit renamed in January 2026 from the Digital Experience business he had led since December 2021. He arrived at Adobe in January 2020 as executive vice president and general manager for Digital Experience and picked up worldwide field operations six months later. Before Adobe he was chief executive of the data management company Informatica from 2015 to 2020, after serving as its chief product officer, and he spent more than nine years in leadership roles at the cybersecurity company Symantec, most recently running information security.
