Company Hiring Signal use cases
Turn a column of LinkedIn company URLs into a hiring signal, straight in Google Sheets. Derrick checks LinkedIn Jobs for each company and returns whether it currently has open roles, how many, and every job title found - plus a ready-to-open jobs search. Narrow it by country, posting date or keywords. No LinkedIn account to connect, and companies with no openings come back as a clear no rather than a blank.
- Prioritise an account list: start with the companies that are growing.
- Time outreach on fresh signals by filtering on roles posted in the last week.
- Spot teams expanding: filter on keywords like sales or engineer to see which function is being staffed.
- Open with a specific hook drawn from the roles a company is actually recruiting for.
Use Company Hiring Signal via the API
Company Hiring Signal isn't tied to the Google Sheets sidebar. Every Derrick enrichment - this one included - is also exposed through the REST API and the MCP server, so you can run it from your CRM, your data pipeline, an AI assistant, or any no-code tool (Zapier, Make, n8n). Same credit cost as the add-on, same data. API access is included from the Standard plan up.

"Have tested over 10+ LI scraper apps, Derrick beats them all. Simple to use, accurate data, and affordable price."
Hiring is the cheapest qualification signal in B2B. A company opening roles is a company that just raised, is entering a market, or is staffing a team that will need tools. The information is public on LinkedIn Jobs, but checking it account by account does not scale, and it never lands in the spreadsheet where the rest of the prospecting happens.
Derrick reads a column of LinkedIn company URLs from a Google Sheet and writes back, per row : whether the company currently has open roles, how many, every job title found, and a ready-to-open jobs search. Narrow the search by country, by posting date, or by keywords such as sales or engineer to see which function is being staffed. No LinkedIn account to connect. Free to start, then 1 credit per company. See the Derrick pricing grid.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to install anything to use Company Hiring Signal?
Just the Derrick Google Sheets add-on (one click, no API keys, no developer setup). Once installed, Company Hiring Signal is one of the workflows available from the Derrick sidebar inside any Sheet. The same feature is also available via REST API and via the Derrick MCP server for Claude / ChatGPT.
Can I use Company Hiring Signal on a list of 1,000+ rows?
Yes - Company Hiring Signal runs as a batch job inside Google Sheets, with progress tracking and per-row credit accounting. The workflow scales linearly: 10 rows or 10,000 rows, the steps are identical and you can step away while it runs.
Where does the data behind Company Hiring Signal come from?
Derrick aggregates 10+ public-data sources (LinkedIn graph, company websites, registry data, web crawl, third-party providers) and runs a multi-source lookup for Company Hiring Signal. The first source that returns a confident match wins; if no source is confident enough, the cell is left blank rather than guessed.
Is Company Hiring Signal GDPR-compliant?
Yes. Derrick only enriches public data, doesn't store personal records beyond the duration of the lookup, and supports full deletion on request. The Sheets add-on runs inside Google's OAuth-protected environment so your data stays private to your account.
Can I trigger Company Hiring Signal automatically when I add a row?
Yes - set up a Google Sheets onEdit trigger (Apps Script, takes 2 minutes) so a new row in column A automatically runs Company Hiring Signal into column B. Pair with Zapier / Make / n8n to push CRM contacts directly into the sheet for hands-free enrichment.
