What is job title?
Job title is the prospect's current role at their company (e.g. "VP Sales", "Senior Account Executive"). It's the single most-used field for ICP filtering and territory routing in B2B sales-ops. Modern enrichment providers normalise titles across taxonomies (e.g. "VP Sales" vs "Vice President of Sales" vs "VP, Sales") so you can segment cleanly.
In the context of lead email-based prospecting, job title sits downstream: you start from the lead email as your lookup key, the resolver maps it to the matching record in the source graph, and the job title value is returned as part of the enrichment payload. The accuracy of the job title you get back depends on how cleanly your lead email input identifies the underlying entity.
