Mark Patterson is executive vice president and chief financial officer of Cisco, a role he took on the first day of fiscal year 2026 in July 2025 when Scott Herren retired after nearly five years. He joined Cisco in September 2000 and has spent his entire twenty five year career there, serving as executive vice president and chief strategy officer from March 2024 to July 2025, as senior vice president and chief of staff to the chair and chief executive officer from October 2018 to March 2024, as senior vice president for strategy, planning and operations for worldwide sales and marketing from July 2015 to October 2018, and in a series of finance and leadership roles before that. Presenting his first full year as chief financial officer in August 2026, he pointed to fiscal 2026 as the company's highest productivity year in three decades measured by revenue, non GAAP operating margin and earnings per employee.
