Who is the Chief Communications Officer of Cisco?

Steve Clayton is senior vice president and chief communications officer of Cisco, having joined on January 5, 2026. He arrived from Microsoft, where he spent more than twenty eight years, most recently as vice president of communications strategy and chief storyteller, working with senior leadership on communications and on the culture change programme the company ran over that period. He also led Microsoft's global public affairs team and owned its storytelling properties, including the application of artificial intelligence inside the communications function itself. He took the Cisco role in the year the company posted record fiscal results and repositioned itself around artificial intelligence infrastructure, which puts the narrative for that shift, and for a 40 year old brand, inside his remit.
