HubSpot vs Pipedrive (2026): Pricing, Features and Which CRM to Choose
Compare HubSpot vs Pipedrive on pricing, automation, reporting and contact data, then find out which CRM fits your team with a verdict by profile.
HubSpot vs Pipedrive comes down to one question: do you want a CRM built around the sales pipeline, or a platform where sales, marketing and service share the same records? Pipedrive is the first kind. HubSpot is the second. Both are good CRM systems, and both will let you track deals, send emails and report on your pipeline. They differ on price per seat, on how far automation and reporting go, on support, and on one thing most comparisons skip: what each CRM does with your contact data once it is inside.
This guide compares the two on the usual criteria (pricing, ease of use, pipeline, automation, reporting, integrations, AI, support), then on contact data: import, duplicates, custom fields and freshness. It ends with a verdict by type of team. Prices and plan limits were read on the official pricing pages and help centers of both vendors in October 2026; they change often, so check them again before you sign.

HubSpot vs Pipedrive: the key difference
Pipedrive is a sales pipeline CRM; HubSpot is a marketing and sales platform with a CRM at its center. Pipedrive opens on your deals, arranged by stage, and asks one thing of your reps: what is the next action on each deal. HubSpot opens on a shared database of contacts, companies and deals that marketing, sales and service all write to, with email campaigns, forms, a help desk and AI agents plugged into it.
That difference explains almost everything else in this comparison. Pipedrive stays cheaper because it does less outside of sales, and it is quicker to learn for the same reason. HubSpot costs more as you climb its plans because each plan adds tools for other teams, and it rewards companies where marketing feeds leads into sales every day.
A simple test: list the tools you would need next to your CRM. If the list says "email marketing, landing pages, help desk", HubSpot covers them under one login. If the list says "a pipeline my reps will actually update", Pipedrive is the more direct answer, and you add the rest through its marketplace.
HubSpot vs Pipedrive pricing in 2026
Pricing is where the two CRM systems diverge most. The figures below were observed on both vendors' official pricing pages in October 2026, in euros, excluding VAT, with annual billing. Both vendors show prices in your local currency, so the amount on your screen may differ; the gap between plans is what matters here.
| Tier | HubSpot (per seat, per month) | Pipedrive (per seat, per month) |
|---|---|---|
| Free | 0 euros, up to 2 users | No free plan (14-day trial) |
| Entry | Starter: about 7 euros with a limited-time 65% discount, up to 10 users | Lite: about 14 euros |
| Middle | Professional: about 90 euros | Growth: about 39 euros; Premium: about 59 euros |
| Top | Enterprise: about 175 euros | Ultimate: about 79 euros |
Pipedrive says annual billing saves up to 42% compared with paying month to month. HubSpot's Starter price was shown with a limited-time discount when we checked, so expect the regular price to be higher once the offer ends.
What a team of five pays in a year
Take five sales reps, billed annually, at the prices observed in October 2026:
- Pipedrive Growth (automations and sequences included): 5 x 39 x 12 = about 2,340 euros a year.
- Pipedrive Premium (adds firmographic enrichment and phone support): 5 x 59 x 12 = about 3,540 euros a year.
- HubSpot Starter at the discounted price: 5 x 7 x 12 = about 420 euros a year, while the offer lasts.
- HubSpot Professional (advanced workflows, custom reports, forecasting): 5 x 90 x 12 = about 5,400 euros a year.
The free HubSpot plan does not fit this team: it stops at two users. The real decision is usually between Pipedrive Growth or Premium and HubSpot Starter or Professional, and the jump to HubSpot Professional is where the bill grows fastest.
Costs that are not on the price tag
Both vendors sell extras. Pipedrive lists paid add-ons for lead capture (LeadBooster), website visitor tracking, email campaigns, projects and documents with e-signature, with starting prices between about 13 and 41 euros a month in October 2026. HubSpot includes a monthly allowance of HubSpot Credits from Starter (5,000, then 10,000 on Professional and 15,000 on Enterprise) that pay for AI agents and some automated features, and sells more in packs. Plan limits matter too: Pipedrive caps deals, custom fields and reports by plan, and HubSpot caps users on its Free and Starter plans. Read the limits for the plan you are about to buy, not only the price.
Ease of use and pipeline management
Winner: Pipedrive, for teams whose day starts in the pipeline.
Pipedrive's main screen is the deal board. Each column is a stage, each card is a deal, and you move a deal by dragging it. Deal rotting highlights deals that have not moved for too long, and pipeline-specific fields (on Premium and Ultimate) let each pipeline ask for its own information. A new rep can be productive in an afternoon, which is the reason most small sales teams give for choosing it.
HubSpot manages deals on every plan, Free included, with a board view by stage, but the product is wider. Contacts, companies, deals, tickets, marketing emails and reports all live in the same navigation, which is a strength once you use them and a learning curve before. Teams that only want to manage deals often find HubSpot asks them to understand more objects than they need.
On the other side, HubSpot's record view is richer by default: a contact shows its emails, form submissions, page views and deals in one timeline, because marketing and sales write to the same record. In Pipedrive, the contacts timeline shows emails, calls and activities, but marketing activity only appears if you add the Campaigns add-on or connect a marketing tool.
In the web app or Google Sheets
Enrich the export, re-import the clean version
Whatever the CRM, the practical route is the same: export the accounts to a list, let Derrick refill industry, headcount band, location and LinkedIn page, then push the corrected columns back. No admin rights needed to try it.
- Feature
- LinkedIn Companies Profile Enrichment
- Credit cost
- 1 credit per company enriched
The first button opens the web app (nothing to install): 1 credit per company enriched, 100 free credits every month. The second details the feature and its cost per plan.
Automation and email sequences
Winner: HubSpot for depth, Pipedrive for value at the middle tier.
Pipedrive starts automations on Growth, with 50 automations per company, then 150 on Premium and 250 on Ultimate, with if/else branches and delays. Sequences (automated multi-step email follow-ups) also start on Growth, with 5 per company, rising to 25 and 50 on the next plans. For a sales team that wants "when a deal reaches this stage, create a task and send this email", Growth covers it.
HubSpot offers simple automation and the creation of automations from a record on Starter, and keeps its advanced workflow builder, with branching across objects and teams, for Professional and Enterprise. Sales sequences also sit at Professional. The ceiling is higher, but you pay Professional prices to reach it.
A practical rule: if your automations are about deals moving through stages, Pipedrive Growth is enough. If they mix marketing and sales, for example nurturing a lead by email until it scores high enough to be assigned to a rep, HubSpot Professional is built for it.
Reporting and forecasting
Winner: Pipedrive for simple sales reporting, HubSpot for custom and cross-team reports.
Pipedrive gives every plan deal and activity reports, with a limit per seat (15 on Lite, 50 on Growth, 250 on Premium, 500 on Ultimate). The forecast view starts on Growth. Reports are quick to build and read, which suits a sales manager who wants to know what will close this month.
HubSpot keeps custom reports, customer journey analytics and revenue forecasting across pipelines for Professional and above. With them you can report on anything in the database, including marketing sources, so a report like "deals won this quarter by first marketing touch" is possible. On Free and Starter, reporting is more limited.
Whatever the CRM, reports only show what the records contain. A report by industry or company size is empty if half your companies have no industry or headcount filled in, which is the subject of the data section further down.
The app works through your list row by row: 1 credit per company enriched.
Integrations, API and AI features
Integrations and API
Winner: a tie, with different philosophies. Pipedrive relies on its marketplace, which it describes as 500+ integrations, plus API access and webhooks on every plan. It is designed to be the sales core of a stack you assemble yourself. HubSpot includes two-way data sync with dozens of apps from the free plan, has its own app marketplace, and covers more needs natively, so you need fewer integrations in the first place. Both vendors also publish a connector for AI assistants: Pipedrive lists an MCP server in its plans, and HubSpot lists a connector for Claude.
AI features
Winner: HubSpot, for breadth. HubSpot puts its Breeze assistant on every plan, including Free, and adds AI agents as you move up: prospecting and meeting recording from Starter, deal and content agents on Professional. Many of these run on HubSpot Credits. Pipedrive's AI is focused on the sales rep: AI email writing on Premium and Ultimate, and meeting intelligence (pre-call briefs, call summaries and transcripts) under the Pipedrive Nova name. If AI for marketing content matters to you, HubSpot is ahead; if you only want help writing follow-ups, both do it.
Support and onboarding
Winner: Pipedrive on the entry plans. Pipedrive offers 24/7 live chat on every plan, a chatbot and a help center, with phone support from Premium. HubSpot's free plan has no email or chat support; email and in-app chat support start at Starter, and the higher plans add more help. Both have large knowledge bases and training academies.
If you are a small team without a CRM admin, the difference is real: on Pipedrive Lite you can reach a human by chat at any hour, while on HubSpot Free you rely on the documentation and the community.
HubSpot vs Pipedrive for contact data: import, duplicates, fields
A CRM is only worth the records it contains. Both tools are excellent at organizing data you already have; neither one guarantees that the data is complete or still true. This is where the comparison usually stops, and where most CRM projects lose value six months after launch; our CRM data quality report puts numbers on how fast records decay.
Import
Both CRMs import spreadsheets (CSV or Excel) and map columns to fields. HubSpot matches imported contacts to existing ones by email address, companies by domain name, and any record by its Record ID if you include it in the file, so an import can update records instead of creating new ones. Pipedrive offers, at each import, to recognize and merge duplicates with existing people and organizations, or to bypass that step if you want separate records. The quality of an import still depends on the file: a contact without an email or a company without a domain gives either CRM nothing reliable to match on.
Duplicates
HubSpot deduplicates automatically: a contact with an email that already exists is merged into the existing record, and a company with an existing domain as well. That works well as long as each contact has one email and each company one domain. For duplicates that slip through (two emails for one person, a company created without a domain), HubSpot's tool to identify and merge duplicate records is part of Professional and Enterprise.
Pipedrive includes Merge Duplicates on every plan. It flags two people as possible duplicates when they share a name and either a phone number, an email address or an organization, and two organizations when they share a name and an address. You choose the primary record, and its values win in case of conflict. On a large base it is a manual review, but it is available from Lite.
Custom fields and required fields
Pipedrive limits custom fields per company by plan: 30 on Lite, 100 on Growth, 300 on Premium and 500 on Ultimate, with required fields, formula fields and pipeline-specific fields from Premium. HubSpot reserves custom objects, beyond contacts, companies and deals, for Professional and Enterprise. In both, the right number of required fields is small: a field that a rep must fill to save a deal gets filled with anything.
Native enrichment
Both vendors now sell some enrichment inside the CRM. HubSpot offers native enrichment on certain plans. Pipedrive includes firmographic enrichment from Premium, adds email and phone enrichment on Ultimate, and counts it in data enrichment credits per company (100 on Premium, 500 on Ultimate in October 2026). Check the coverage on a sample of your own accounts before counting on it, especially outside the US.
Freshness
Neither CRM updates a record by itself when a contact changes jobs. The email bounces, the job title stays wrong, and the company field points to a former employer. A CRM records what someone typed or imported on a given day; keeping it true is a process, not a feature, and a CRM data strategy decides who owns each field and how often it is refreshed. Our guide to contact management in a CRM covers the field rules and the one-hour audit that keep a base clean, whichever tool you pick.
Keeping HubSpot or Pipedrive data fresh
The method that works with both CRMs, on any plan, is a loop: export a segment, fill the missing fields outside the CRM, check them, and import the corrected file back with the "update existing records" option.
- Export a segment, not the whole base. In HubSpot or Pipedrive, filter the records that matter (open deals, target accounts, leads from the last 90 days) and export them to CSV with their record ID, email, company name and domain or LinkedIn URL.
- Enrich the file in the Derrick web app. Import the CSV in the app at app.derrick-app.com, nothing to install. Company enrichment fills industry, headcount band, location and LinkedIn page at 1 credit per company; Enrich Leads refreshes job title and company from a LinkedIn profile at 1 credit per profile; the Email Finder finds a work email at 5 credits per email found, and the emails it finds are already verified. Company enrichment and Enrich Leads read LinkedIn, so they need your LinkedIn account connected through the Derrick Chrome extension.
- Verify what you did not find yourself. Emails that came from an old import or another tool can be checked with Email Verification before a campaign.
- Import back in "fill empty fields" mode. Keep the record ID column, map only the enriched columns, and never let an automated value overwrite a field a rep typed by hand. Add a custom field with the enrichment date, so you know which records are due for a refresh.
The free plan gives 100 credits a month without a card, enough to test the loop on a small segment of your HubSpot or Pipedrive base. The Email Finder comes with paid plans, from STANDARD at 20 euros a month.
Automating the loop
Once the manual loop works, you can trigger it on every new record. Derrick has no native HubSpot or Pipedrive integration; the automation runs via our API with Zapier, Make or N8N. A typical scenario: when a contact is created in the CRM, the automation sends its LinkedIn URL or company domain to the Derrick API, receives the missing fields, and writes them back to the record. The API and the MCP server are included from the PLUS plan at 47.50 euros a month. Our guide to HubSpot data enrichment details the workflow patterns on the HubSpot side.
If your team lives in Google Sheets
The same loop also runs in the Derrick sidebar for Google Sheets: open the export in a sheet and run the enrichment from the sidebar. Sheets also gives you Find Duplicates, free, to spot redundant rows before the re-import, which helps with HubSpot duplicates that the automatic email match misses.
Switching between HubSpot and Pipedrive
Teams move in both directions: from Pipedrive to HubSpot when marketing grows and needs the same database, from HubSpot to Pipedrive when the bill at Professional no longer matches how the CRM is used. The migration itself is mostly an export and an import. What takes time is the model.
- Map the objects first. Pipedrive works with people, organizations, deals and leads; HubSpot with contacts, companies, deals and tickets. Write down where each one goes before exporting anything.
- Rebuild pipelines and stages by hand. Stages, probabilities and pipeline-specific fields do not translate one to one.
- Clean before you move. Merge duplicates and archive dead records in the old CRM. Migrating a messy base moves the mess and adds a new layer of duplicates.
- Fill the matching keys. Make sure each contact has an email and each company a domain before the import, because HubSpot deduplicates on these and Pipedrive's duplicate checks rely on name plus email, phone or organization.
- Rebuild automations last. Workflows and sequences do not migrate; list them, then rebuild the ones still in use.
- Run both in parallel for a short period, on a small team, before switching everyone.
The migration is also the cheapest moment to enrich: the base is already exported, and you are about to map every column. Filling missing company data and job titles before the import into the new CRM costs far less than doing it record by record afterwards.
HubSpot vs Pipedrive: which one should you choose?
There is no absolute winner; there is a better fit for each type of team.
Solo founder or small sales team (1 to 5 reps)
Pick Pipedrive if your CRM is a sales tool first. Lite or Growth gives you a clear pipeline, automations and sequences from Growth, and live chat support, for a predictable price per seat. Pick HubSpot Free or Starter if you need a free start for one or two users, or if you already use HubSpot forms and email on your website.
Marketing and sales working on the same leads
Pick HubSpot. When leads come from content, forms and campaigns, and marketing needs to see what sales does with them, one shared database is worth the higher price of Professional. Pipedrive can work here with add-ons and integrations, but you will assemble what HubSpot gives you natively.
Scale-up with a growing sales organization
Both can work, for different reasons. Pipedrive Premium and Ultimate stay much cheaper per seat and keep reps in a simple interface. HubSpot Professional and Enterprise give more control (permissions, custom objects, sandbox, advanced reporting) for revenue operations. Compare the full yearly cost for your real headcount, not the entry price.
In every case, the CRM you choose will only be as good as its records. Plan the import, the duplicate rules and a refresh cycle before you migrate, not after. More guides on keeping records complete are in our CRM data enrichment section, and if you are still choosing a category, the guide to the types of CRM explains which data each kind of CRM needs to work.
